Default PCV Valve/Screen question

I've got the upper and lower intake off right now replacing the gaskets. I took the PCV valve and screen out and man it looked bad. My question is I'm guessing I really need this screen? If so can I can this local or will I need to order it from somewhere like LRS? Reason I ask, I just call Carquest and they didn't know what I was talking about...

I got mine from the dealer, and it took them about a day to get it.

You can soak it in some carb cleaner. As grimey as they get, they clean up pretty nicely.
