Default C4 swap question

Is the flexplate needed to do the swap a 157 tooth?

I am tired of rebuilding the T5 due to its inability to hold up to the abuse it see's. I have a c4 trans ready to go in but, I am uncertain on which flexplate is needed for the swap. I hope someone here can answer this question for me.

I used the same flexplate as the AOD that died on my car. Its a 50oz thats all I know for sure lol. 157 sounds right since its a small bell housing. Sorry if I couldn't help yah, good luck on the swap, I hope it treats you like mine has done for me.

Yes it is a 157 tooth 50 oz flexplate as long as you haven't changed the crank and balancer.

The bolt circle on the convertor is 11 1/2 inches. I have talked with some people locally and they said I need the 164 tooth flex plate. Now I have both in hand and will figure it out soon I guess.

If you have a c-4 with the big bell, then 164 50oz is your best bet. small bell is 157...Here is a picture of my c-4 with the big bell. Hope this helps?

That is a pan fillc-4 164.they also have case fill c-4s that has the 164 & 157 and a very small bell fortheold mustang2. then there is the C-5 bell that will bolt to the V8 but it is deeper and can cause problems with the converter fitting in the pump far enough. Also for the above pic. your R sevo is installed wrong.

I'm going to do the same swap when my AOD takes a crap. I have a pan fill C-4 sitting in the shop, but how can I tell if it's a157 or a 164?. Do bothbellhousings use the same starter?
Thanks

I have never seen a 157 tooth bell on a pan fill. Not saying they are not out there I have just never seen one or even heard of one. So I would feel safe to say its a 164 if your Aod flywheel fits inside of it you should be ok.
