Default running warm at an idle!

My 93 coupe has 111,000 miles on it. It has a complete GT40 upper. Other than this, it is stock ( trooper car, don't know how much differ this will make). It has a new thermostat, clutch fan, and three bank radiator. It runs about 195 to 200 degrees when moving, but when at an idle it runs 235 or warmer. Put a new cap on radiator also. I dont know what else to look at. Can you guys help with some ideas please? Thanks much ........

did you check to see if your coolant is full? could also be a faulty t-stat you can buy a new one and it could still be bad. check to see if your water pump is leaking from the weep holes it could be on its way out.

if it overheats at idle..is your fan clutch working??? is the fan shroud there?? and are the radiator and condensor fins free of any and all dirt and debris as to allow the proper air flow across the radiator???

Do you have the proper reverse flow water pump and fan clutch?
Using parts that were meant for an earlier (non serpentine) V-belt engine may cause issues like your describing.
Also look inside your radiator at the core tubes. On older non maintained cooling systems the core can plug up. You will see white crusty deposits growing on the tubes.
Youwill have to lower your coolant to see inside the radiator.

Done all that and more guys. Going to put a double electric fan on and a new aluminum high ef. water pump. That should do it and give me some more HP at the same time. Thanks for the feedback.
