You need to verify if the valve is working and a simple vaccum pump can do that while the car is running unplug the supply line to the valve and plug in your pump and apply vaccum to valve..as it opens car will start to idle rough and by the time it opens all the way the car should die......then check the vaccum supply line to the evr selonoid and check the evr selonoid by applying current to it after unpluging connector....if it works you should here it click...but even simpler you can hook a vaccum gauge to the line that plugs into the egr valve and run a koer test and when it runs the egr portion of the test you should have a vaccum reading on the gauge briefly..this will let you know that the system that controls the egr operation is functioning the way it's designed

so since i suspect im pinging what if i throw some 110 octane in there to see if it makes it go away
because i here this sound coming from the shifter area its ratling sound and only at WOT in second and third
