Want start, timing???
Need some help, I had to pull my distributor to pull my lower intake off. Well I think I have mucked it the timing and she will not start. I don't have a timing light and don't even know how to use one... So what can I do to fix this mess I've done. I didn't know to get #1 TDC or any of the other crap until it was to late.
Can anyone give me advise on what to do and how to fix. If you don't mind keep in on a 1st grade level, I'm just a want to be that don't know chit about timing...
Thanks...

RE: Want start, timing???
its actually simple just take out #1 plug rotate crank until u hear and feel air coming out of the hole this is compression stroke and turn it til u reach TDC. if u go past dont turn back youll put slack in the timing chain. then line the rotor to the number 1 spot on the cap and stab it. if its off or wont start good chances are your off a tooth just take out the distributor and turn in a tooth back and that should be all u need

Still questioning myself... How do you know #1 is TDC for sure? Is this just something you feel/hear, nothing to see right? And rotoating the crank how? And when you have it TDC and you are ready to line the rotor up with the #1 plug do you just lift the distributor turn/line up and then put it back in?
Sorry for the questions, just not 100% sure of myself here...
