Default Spark plug wires & plugs

Hey guys, I have a few questions regarding spark plug wire sets and the spark plugs themselves. I'm probably going to insure my GT again soon, and I'm gonna need to do a tune-up right away. I'm looking to replace the plugs along with the wires this time. So my questions are, what size spark plug wire set should I go with? I've been researching some sets online, and I've noticed a lot of 8 mm and 8.5 mm ones, and I've even heard of Mustangs using 9 mm. I sorta assumed I'd buy MSD wires. On the plugs, I'm wondering what brand name to go with (if it matters) and then what KIND to get (copper, platinum, etc)?

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Hey dude,

I've posted a bunch of questions reguarding that.

I have my engine apart cause I'm doing a "major" tune up as well...I'd suggest you go with the MSD 8.5mm wires, I've been recommended to get the Autolite 25's by quite a few people, they say that the platinums don't go well with the mustangs, not sure if its just 5.0 models or all around, but even at the shop I was told that the 25's would be great. I also suggest that you buy an MSD cap and rotor aswell, I did =) it'll look bad *** when i'm done =P hehe

Good luck!

no the plat. plugs are ok on stock engine and lightly modded.. then the autolite is my choice.as for the plug wires I would never buy the FMS 9mm there terrible..I would buy the plug wires with the least resit per foot you can afford..I think accel make some that are like 25 ohms per foot unlike the ford's 250=500 ohms...as for a cap the stock one is great it has brass ternimals...

The FMS 9MM plug has 40ohms per foot, but it is .5MM bigger than the 8.5 and last a long time! I love my 9MM wires, MSD is a very good wire as well though. Don't get Accel, they are cheap.
