Power Steering Pump Replacement

Power Steering Pump Replacement
The power steering "pressure hose" looks like a painto attach to therack and pinion. It looks like if I detach the hose next to it (return hose)that it may be easier. Correct me if I am wrong, the correct pulley puller will fit in engine bay to remove pulley.

The pressure hose isn't covered in grease, so maybe its alright. The return hose was caked in power steering fluid. Weird thing is that fluid is leaking somwwhere but I rarely have to add fluid and steering is a little loud which I heard is normal and steering works perfectly. Pump was cheap so I figured just change it out.

do you have some sloppy steering? could be the rack n pinion itself...as for the hose its an easy replacement i had to do mine in the spring.
im droppring out the power steering and going manual. easy fix, pick up some free ponies and lose some weight in the front.

RE: Power Steering Pump Replacement
I had the rack and pinion done last Nov. I noticed when I took off belt that the PS pulley had play in it (shifts about 1/16 forward and back). I have been hearing a noise sometimes that sound like a pulley bearing going out. This is why I figured I would start at the cheapest fixes to maybe cure this noisey pulley problem.
