Blowing flames between gears

Blowing flames between gears
As I was following my buddy in his JDM B16 swapped civic, I let in a mini cooper S between us before the stop sign. Somehow he missed our turn down the road so he pulled over but I kept going. He turned around and got behind me. Taking off from another stop sign to get on a bigger road, the MILF in the mini spun the wheels upon take off and all through first. I couldn't let that go so I flooredit and baked first and slammed it into second fast enough to spin all through second and catch her faster than I thought. My friend was behind me and said I blew flames between first and second and then once I let out some black smoke came from my tail pipes.
Any certain reason I'd be blowing flames and a little black smoke?

Its your straight exhaust. That is kindof a bad idea on a basically stock car. You have no back pressure which is actually causing you to lose horsepower. The reason for the flames and the black smoke is that you are running way rich. Ever notice red hot headers?? The way to solve it is a cat back system and a fuel pressure regulator. Getting your timing set correctly wouldnt hurt either.

It feels stronger and runs a faster et with the straight exhaust than it did with flows and dumps.
This car also runs really cool compared to most of the cars I've owned, never seen red hot headers on this one, can't say much for a BMW I had though.
