revving between shifts
I have a 95 that was a originally a v6. I recently swapped in a 5.0 from a 94 gt. I've been driving it for about a month now and it always revs up about 125 rpm after i let off the throttle. I was told that it could be the throttle position sensor and that seems to make sense but I'd like to get some better opions.
thanks!

RE: revving between shifts
well i'm sure it does it when i'm in gear and let off but it isn't noticable. its noticable when i let off the throttle to shift. it lasts about 1.5-2 seconds and only revs about 125 maybe 250 rpm. its just annoying and i don't know whats causing it. i'll check the voltage level on the tps when i get a chance, thanks.

RE: revving between shifts
Yes...... it's normal.... that is the "dashpot" idle strategy when shifting and VSS input is > 6 mph. You don't need to adjust the TPS or replace it, as long as no TPS failure codes are registered in the system. TPS normal acceptable closed throttle value is .5 - 1.19 vdc (.7 - 1.0 vdc = optimum), the computer takes care of filtering it to a ratchet value of 0....... adjusting the TPS is a myth, don't waste time doing something the computer is already programmed to do on its own.
