I had a 1996 GT and the 4.6 kina crapped out on me a 100K even after it had been fed synthedic oil all its life and changed every 3k miles. Now that Ive got my 5.0 I dont think Id ever go back. Maintance is a breeze. My wife has an 02 GT, its absolutly amazing, but I just couldnt give up my 5.0.

i bought my 90 for 6k. put a blower and messed a bunch of s**t up. 3 months and 15k dollars later it runs perfectly fine. Damn fast too. But yea if i could do it all over again i would of built my engine first, thats the only thing i regret when i got a 5.0. there sick but they got alot of years to them.

Well i figure if i want to be truely fast I will get some spinners from autozone, these will add a definate torque increase due to the ball bearings acting like turbos.

Then i am gonna take off the old low profile spoiler and replace it with a custom fabriacted 3 level one, this is clearly what the F1 racers use when they do straight line racing.

And I am gonna swap in a civic engine, those 4 cylinders do like 300 at the wheels stock (to the front ones of course, i am not gonna play around with RWD when FWD is completely awesome), so clearly i will have an advanteage in the performance department.

I have a 1980 Capri Black Magic (302ho) and a 1983 gtho 5.0 and buddy if there was a part on eather car that could be replaced i have come damn close to doing it. The Motors , trans ect... And buddy if you know how to do routine maint. you wont have a problem. I have fallen in complete love with the both of them and would not trade them for anything!!!!!!!! They are both beat on continously and they keep on taking it and asking for more. My buddy 86gtho has a 1986 5.0gtho and that thing is over100k and it seems like it gets faster every hundred miles that goes on the clock. You wont regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!
