Default Looking To Get A 5.0

Well I am looking for cars and one of my options is a 5.0 Mustang. I have some concerns though such as the fact i've read that they can be a nuisance when it comes to common maintenance needing problems.

Pretty much I have about 8 Grand (maybe more, it depends, in the long run itll be close to 10) to get a car (that includes what I spend after I get it). I was thinking of a 1990 GT, KBB private party is around 3500.

I am only 17 so I dont want to get stuck with something I'll regret and up costing me money (i've read some good reviews, but i've also read horror ones). I've been doing a lot of research on other cars but I have availability problems which leads me to the mustang and its common numbers.

What should I expect with my given budget? (condition and after market options)

I am looking for something to last me around 3-4 years.

Thanks a ton and I hope this all leads me to joining the number of 5.0 owners.

Yeah I was figuring on my budget I should be pretty well off.

My step used to own a 5.0, brand new, got about 50 miles on it before some idiot rear ended him at a stop sign doing about 60, it pushed the rear seats into the front ones. [:'(]

I know a kid who owns a 91 GT I think, hes doing around 320hp, it's so nice.

cough...90's foxbody's RULE!...coughcough...haha. what do you mean by 'common maintanance problems'? maintanance is no more and no less than any other car. best thing about the mustang...it's SO easy to make it SO fast...get one, you won't regret it. i paid 5k for mine and it's near mint...so 8k should get you some nice aftermarket stuff. anyway, good luck man

when i said common maintenance problems I was talking about ones referring to the 5.0 only.

I read some horror stories about 5.0s, but I also think they were written by idiots.

It'll be a couple more weeks before I start making phone calls.

On another good note my step is a certified glasurit paint technician, all I have to pay for is materials and all my paint prep and labor is free.

I bought mine from an old man.

-Back seats never sat in
-Every option, including 5 spd
-Never burned out in (until now)
-All scheduled tune ups with proof

Paid 5800 for it, with an extra set of snow tires mounted on an extra pair of ponys

BONE stock, even had a brand new stock exhaust system.

Heh, its goign to be crazy when im done.
