I'm running a stock 5.0 with a Kenne Bellat6 psi and 19 lb/hr injectors with an FMU. Runs just fine.If you keep your boost at 6-8 psi, you don't need a custom tune, larger MAF, larger fuel pump or any of that jazz.

I've been running this combo for 8 years with no issues. No blown head gaskets, no burnt pistons, no probs.

I don't think this is always a safe bet, it may have worked for you but there's a reason they tell you to stay out of boost until tune, even at mild PSI you could still nuke something. For what you spent on that KB you're not getting nearly the HP out of it that you should because your setup is incomplete, you should finish it up

Just wondering, if I take that 3600 for the kb and run a different direction and do something like the trick flow top end with exaust, maybe an underdrive pully and some lower gears, how would that compare to 8-10psi from a kb on a stock motor?

with that money if u want to stay naturally aspired..u can piece together a kit that gets more power per dollar spent than by going with trickflows kit...im not saying its a bad kit..ive ridden in a 95 with the stage 1 kit many times..my friends..and its definatly fast...but u can do better for 3600 u can almost buy an entire motor minus intake from fordstrokers and have a sweet package

Similar gains, a guy with an 11psi KB on a stock 5.0 made just over 300whp, huge torque though. That was with the 1.5 kit. Putting together a good h/c/i you should be at a similiar point.

Either way I would still need to get the bigger injectors/fuel pump/tune/whatever though right? With a lower gear, would the car still feel like it had all that lovely torque? What H/C/I combo would be better for the money, how much would it hurt to keep the stock cam?

if ur heads are off already might as well put in a better cam....the stock isnt worthless....but theres much better outta aftermarket..if u go that route give ur head details as well as intake n get a custom cam ground thats the best way to go..off the shelf cams arent bad either if u want to save some money but custom is always better..as for fuel..my buddies 95 with tfs1 kit has 24lb injectors..stock pump, and hasnt been tuned yet n it runs fine...sure theres more in it with a tune but it runs good now too
