A lot depends on how thick (soon to be thin) your wallet is I'd say.

What mods are you thinking about?

well ya because cash is a little bit of an issue i am looking for somewhat smaller mods for now. I was thinking things like an intake, short throw shifter, exhaust, ect.. things like that. For right now im not looking to make it a drag car just something thats quick and def steetable because thats my car from spring to next winter. I have some ideas in mind i just wasnt sure what order to buy stuff in and things like that

well..exhaust doesnt give u phenominal gains horsepower wise..but it sure makes it sound better..a shortthrow makes it more fun than the sloppy stock..and plus helps eliminate missing shifts..which in turn could save u having to get work done to ur tranny..thats if u miss alot lol...when u say intake are u talkin like cold air..or upper/lower intake manifolds?..btwdo the free stuff first..bump timing..if its stock air tube..remove the silencer n put a k/n filter in..

Start out by making it breath and exhale better with a cai, maf, tb, egr, and a good exhaust. Rear end gears like a 3.73 or even a 4.10will definatlymake a difference and bump the timing. Thats a good starting point for any car.

To get started with out spending to much money, I'd suggest performing the free mods first, much like every one has said so far, bumping the timing, silencer removal etc...It sounds to melike you already have a good idea of where to spend the first couple dollars. I would also suggest adding a set of subframe connectors, as well as a gear change (3.55-4.10 depending on what kind of driving you do and future plans for the car). If you go with a cold air intake, consider upgrading the mass air meter, as well as upgrading to a 65mm throttle body. After most of the smaller bolt-ons, you may want to get a different intake manifold, and since it sounds like money could be an issue, tryto find aused 5.0 Explorer intake manifold, they can be found very cheap and would yield an excellent HP/$ ratio.

another pretty cheap way to get some hp, is get the stock heads off of a 351w, (for like $100 or less) wither get an aftermarket intake, or a ford truck upper and lower, then get a TB (65-70mm), mass air meter (73mm), long tubes, h pipe, and cat back, then get 4.10's................you will be inlove with your car for a very long time until you get bit by the mod bug again. Im sure i missed a few items. This can all be done for around $1-$2 k depending on what you use, if you do the work yourself and you dont have to do everything at once
