Default bogging problem... OMG!!!

ok so for awhile now my car bogs and runs like crap when its cold. When i try to go the car will drop the rpms really low and when I shift to second and third the car will bog and sputter. First I took it to 1 mechanic and he did a compression test and everything was fine. He changed the fuel filter, checked the fuel pump, and flushed the injectors.

The problem was still there. The car will also bog when its warm. Coming off a red light the car will start going fine until i let the clutch all the way out in first then it will stumble my head forward and gain power again.

I took it to some experts in the next town. They checked the timing which was 4 degress off, changed the oil, did a compression test, got new cap, wires, plugs, rotor, air filter, and fixed the timing. $473 later I got the car and it still didnt seem 100% but it was running good. It didnt bog bad like before.

This morning I went out and started the car and the idle went up and down, up and down, up and down, like it was going to die. i revved it for a little bit to warm it up but it kept doing it. I restarted the car and it was idling fine but now the same problem is back again and idk what to do.

I also checked and cleaned the maf, checked the fuel pressure regulator, and I am completely out of ideas.

Is it against the law to work on a car with straight pipes?

I dont know what the problem is. When im driving, all the smoke comes out of the left tail pipe if that makes a difference, and there is no blown head gasket, altho I was losing coolent before the tuneup, I dont think I am now, and the exhaust is not sweet smelling.

Please, idk wtf is wrong with it. any ideas at all?

thanks. someone can call me and talk if you want I am sooo desperate!!

I would think you have a vaccum leak, has anybody checked with a can of carb cleaner or a smoke machine for a vacuum leak? Could be a leaking intake as well. jmo

Check your throttle position sensor and your air idle control valve, the TPS is pretty cheap so just replace it anyways. Do you have a hunting idle problem?

is the check engine light on? maybe there's a stored code. could be a fuel pump going bad. my car would sputter too and i could not figure it out. one day i was doing something and noticed the power wire on back of alternator was falling off, fixed my sputtering problem, the fuel pump wasnt getting 12 volts. it could be so many different things that could cause the problem your having.

dont rule out the 02's if theres a code that likes to flash on and off pending on engine warmth they could be the culprit.
