Default wiring guages in a fox

Hey guys.new to the forum and had? about some guages.i just picked up 4 autometers to go in my 88gt.Only problem ive run into was wiring 12v to power the lights on the guages.do you think if i ran all 4 power wires from the guages to the headlight switch then it would get too hot and melt?ive noticed a couple of those switches burning out and was just wodering if it will be ok or not?fi any of you have any other options for me id greatly appreciate it.thanks guys

If I were you, I'd run a fuse tap into the fusebox--off one of the fuses that dims with the dimmer switch (interior lighting or something). You can buy fuse taps from Pep Boys. Then run a decent gauge of wire from there to your four 12+ Autometer wires.

I pulled the hvac face off and wired the lights to the bulb in the panel. They don't draw hardly anything. Been wired like that for 4 years, never a problem.

I think that's what most people do, and it always works fine.

so your saying to wire to the lights behind the ***** that light up the a/c controls..i feel like i might have a mess of wires going around.maybe ill tap those for the vent guages and run off the dimmer for the pillar guages..thx for the quick responses guys.just got about a foot of snow here in MA so ill be in the garage
