302 out of Country Squire or 4eye stang?
Okay, so im lookin to drop a 302 in my 4banger in the near future. Iv got a friend with a 89 Country Squire with a 302 in it, and a little over 200 thousand miles that he would give to me. He wanted to drive it into trees and ****, so i said id gladly take it off your hands. Or, theres a 4eye stang that I could get a 302 out of. Not sure of the miles.
Would i have better luck with the one out of the Country Squire with EFI or the stang with the carb? I dont think either are the H.O. engines

The 89 is a roller block but is non-HO so it should have the E6AE heads and flat top pistons used on the 86 HO Mustangs and 5.0 ford passenger cars as late as 1991. The intake will be more restrictive than the HO intake and the throttle body most likely be a 50 mm.
It would be a good roller block though if you plan on building a motor later.

bump for other opinions
whats the difference between a roller block and a non-roller block?
Im also thinking about taking the engine and taking it apart myself... you know, learn about it and what not. I got a few car-savvy friends that would help me, and of course, this whole forum lol. Im one of those people that if i have something, I can take it apart and figure out how it works, and usually put it back together correctly. Like i said in one of my other posts, I wish i grew up with a wrench in my hand, but instead, it was a computer. Give me a pile of computer parts and ill build a PC , give me a motor and i wouldn't know where to start lol. I would love to do the work on the car myself and keep the 4 banger in it untill im ready to swap it all in.

get the motor, check the compression, then flip it over remove the pan and main bearing cap and see how the bearing looks. if its all copper there worn. you can also take a penny and run it across to see how deep the divets are.
