flex plate question
I know that around 80 they switched from a 28 oz flex plate to a 50 oz one. my question is, can I take a late 80's motor w/ 50 oz flex plate and mate it to my 77 c4 transmission? I know the flex plate effects the ballance of the engine, but I don't know what else it effects as far as the interface with the tranny etc. help would be much appreciated here as I'm trying to figure out what option I should take w/ my engine.

try this place called total performance in michigan the guy knows his crap when I converted a 68 cougar to a latemodel 50 oz motor he sold us the flexplate needed and balancer and he can tell you all that you need to know...you'll need a special 50 oz flexplate that is for a c-4 tranny and the proper balancer depending on your pulley configuration
