Default 96explorer bottom end in a fox... oil filter issue!!

ok... so the explorer(96) had this oil cooler on it, or whatever you want to call it. id like to just get rid of this and run a filter on the block like you typically would. my problem is that on the block, instead of having the center part w. threads on it to screw the filter on, its threaded on the inside, to screw a bolt into that holds this oil cooler deal on. i dont think the cooler will work w. the mustang, i dont think the clearance is there... so what can i do? sorry i dont have a pic, if its needed i can get one

I think you can unscrew the adapter off your original block and remove the cooler on the explore block and thread in the appropriate piece off your original block

i thought that too... but... i have no way to unscrew the **** off the original block... nothing to grab onto

right now on my explorer block im left with the block, where the filter would screw on(already removed cooler) instead of having threads on the outside of the center piece, they are on the inside... it has a hex head at the bottom of it, which makes me thing it might come off... but i have nothing to get on it... even if it does come off, whats that leave me with?? its just one ****in thing after another

autozone sells one for like 8-12 bucks. it comes with a 2" pin and the adapter. the adapter has a tiny hole through the sides so you can stick the pin in and tighten it.
