another CAM question.... LOL
Hey guys... the 93 lx I recently purchased has a dead skip one cyl is losing compression... The kid that owned it before me
hadnt a clue what he was doing and let a jackleg mech do work to it.. Im sure the heads are F'd up.... or maybe just the
gaskets not sure yet Havent had time to take it down.... Here is my question... and I know part of the answer... LOL...
Stock heads dont bother with the cam... At the moment im not looking for performance as sound... I like a nice lopey idle...
My buddy that is going to pull the engine down to check out the dead cyl has a b 303 cam that he was like its yours if you
want it since we are pulling it down anyway......Should I bother putting it in? the heads will be upgraded at a later date...
This has a stock bottom end with Edelbrock torqer 289 intake with a holley 650 sitting on top of it, MSD 6al ignition and
Long tube headers(also a waste since im not even close to 350 hp but they were on the car when purchased)
Will the B cam sound good on the carb'd engine? or should I just find an F cam in prep for the head change later?
Or just not bother at this point?
Thanks
William

Wow, you talk more than my x-wife.
all that to ask if a B cam will be lopey.
Yes it will be more lopey than stock and work fine with stock heads.

B cam does sound pretty nice. if it's free and the engine is all apart anyway i'd throw it in but it's not the best cam choice out there.

hey free is free and i say take it and run with it =D. it might not be your best choice, and you might have stock heads, but its still gonna be better sounding then the stock cam, thats for sure.

RE: another CAM question.... LOL
ok good deal.. that is what I thought...... the heads have had some work done on them but not real sure exactly what.... I guess as soon as we have them off I can tell better then what all needs to be done..... But as you guys said it will be apart and free so no big deal..... Oh almost forgot... it also has long tube headers..... It currently has the original 4 cyl rearend... however.... I just went tonight and picked up an 8.8 that was in a GT (used to be mine lol) that is posi and has 3.73:1 gears in it... springs and shocks complete with tires and rims.. LOL (they are crap but hey...) for $50... wooo...
Thanks for the input.
