Ill tell you something, since I learned the hard way, .

Whenever you have the engine apart, at least put new bearings in it to save yourself a headache.

I watched a guy put a trickflow top end on a New 306, but a little coolant from the job got in the

engine. He said it would not hurt nothing, and his car's oil was not milky.

I told him it had a shine to it, 9 months later, low oil pressure. Crank and rod bearings wiped.

i bought a $200 motor and dropped it in because i needed a car to drive to work and back. i dont have to much money at the moment and if i would have bought the bearings i wouldnt have been able to buy all the fluids. bearings are easy to do later in the car. oil pump seemed fine when i used a distributor primer.

well since there is no knocking, thicker oil like 20w50 or thicker should hold you off another 12 months or so.

Its good you caught it now, though
