Default Dumping the Charcoal Cannister???

Is there a way to get rid of the canister and not get a check engine light? Does anyone make a kit to remove it?

fox body cars are odb I compliant and therfore they do not monitor evap so you shouldn't get a code by removing it...just cap off the vaccum line going to the purge selonoid

the little canister with the electrical connection is the purge selonoid and the one hose going into it should go to the intake and the valve acts as a gateway/check valve to purge the fuel vapors to the intake to be burned

I just left the fuel tank hose vented to inside the fenderwell and or purchase a vented gas cap and plug off that hose..and then you can remove it all

it's a purge selonoid and when the canistor is full of vapor/saturated it'll open/purge the canistor of all vapors and are transmited through the line connected to the purge selonoid to manifolf vaccum which will pull the vapors in via vaccum to the manifold to be burned in the cumbustion chambers

Simply put the purge canister is a charcoal filter
that allows the gas tank to vent into the intake manifold
instead of into the atmosphere.

The canister is there to catch anything that might get in
the system beside fuel vapors.
