The tranny in my 95 is shot, it's really the only thing wrong with this car. I plan on making this a track car so i don't want to get rid of it. I'm trying to buy a used truck..specifically a 99 Ranger. I would like to drop my 5.0 in the Ranger..i don't know much about dropping motors in and blah blah.

Will it be a direct fit? And will the tranny be able to take the 5.0 motor? What would i have to do to make this work?

there are a good amount of articles on this on the net. I would look at one of the ranger, sites it is pretty common for them. I think your biggest challenge may be the wiring harness..

yeah right after i posted this i found that..im learning so i pretty much have no idea what they are saying.

It looks like i need a tranny for it..i was hoping it would bolt right onto it..so this could cost quite some money.

yeah most people from what I have heard use the AOD. There was a guy I saw that used a T-56. My brother has a ranger and an upcoming candidate in the future. If you are looking on the net, and obviously like performance and rangers check outanSVT built one off Ranger, called the Thunderbolt with a Lightning blown drive train! Now that took excessive modification with the rear and the frame/rims etc. I wish they made those! The body parts are available thorugh Roush(I believe) though. Good luck with it...
