Why do you ask? What is your vacuum? Too low and your vacuum assisted power brakes will not function properly.
Your boost/vacuum gauge may be NFG. Try another gauge. Your gauge should be connected directly to the manifold so you don't get a false reading.
Are you running a blow off valve?Valve should be open at idle.
What cam are you running? With a performance cam your vacuum will be lower than stock.
The cam manufacturer should be able to tell you how much vacuum you will get at idle.
With a really big cam you may only get -10 vacuum.

i just read my own question, lol. what should vaccum read?

at idle, which is 1,000 rpm, it reads around 12, its has a supercharger on it which peaks out at 6 lbs, e303 cam, trickflow upper/lower,heads.
the line goes into the back on the intake manifold and ive check it to make sure it is tight there and at the guage.no leaks
the reason i ask is i havealot of oil on the back of the motor and i dont know where it is coming from. ive cleaned it up but still comes back, it seems to run down the top of the heads and on top of the trans .
any help would be nice. thanks
