sbc in my 88 stang

so im thinking about puting a small block chevy into my 88 lx any one ever done this before?

never done it and my personal opinion is I would never disgrace a ford in such a manner..but I have seen a few with 350's in them and they were very fast mustrolets

i have, it isnt really that bad. got to cut the stock motor stands out and "massage" the firewall for the distributor... the tranny crossmember it also in the right spot to fit the th350. heddman makes hedders for a S-10 v8 swap, they work fine and clear everything as well. the driveshaft will have to be shortened b/c the transmission will be longer, no matter which one u use.

well guys thanks for the imput im not sure on what to do yet my car has a 4:10 posi aod trans 75mm throtal body full length headers non cat x pipe and it just dont go like it should the thing is frustrateing me to death i know my chevy small block will move the car a hell of a lot faster do you guys have any suggestions on what to do for more power ?

a lot of people have done aje makes a tubular k member for foxes that have sbc motor mounts

i vote that you shouldn't be allowed to do this type of thing without getting banned, anyone else with me lol. in all seriousness though, i think its absolutely retarded to do unless your NEVER going to open up your hood again afterwards, because you might be at risk to get a pounding if you did it at a FORD car show, and if you brought our stang to a chevy car show then everyone will be jealous as hell they dont have a fox =P.

However, if you feel like the car isn't fast enough, first tell us what you think is fast. Are you looking for a street/strip car or what. Do you want fast in a straight line, be able to take curves, 1/4mile only, street only, whats up? What et are you looking for on the track? Let me know the following and i can help you get your stang there.
