Default lifters in order?

Hey, this is somehwat of a post facto question, as I can't really do anything about it at this point. but how important is it that the lifters are replaced in the same places that they were originally? Cause I read you are supposed to do that AFTER I had not done so...guess there's not much I can do at this point.

If its a solid lifter cam then it is very critical , if ithas roller liftersI wouldn't be to worried about it.

not so completely true cause a solid roller cam can have lifters swapped around to as well as a hydraulic lifter..I think what you are refering to is flat tappet lifters...flat tappet lifters are crucial to get back in the same place as they wear a patteren in accordance with each lobe..meaning solid flat tappet and hydraulic flat tappet

Why didn't you just replace them while you had the engine apart? Late Model sells them for only $110.

if they are rollers there is NO reason you need to replace them for any stock to mild performance build. if they are flat tappet you NEED to keep them in order. if they were flat tappet and you mixed em up, you cna use new lifters on a used cam with no problem (its using used flat tappet lifters on a new cam that wont work... just for clarification)

but with roller, anything goes

it is a roller cam, and I didn't replace them cause they aren't worn and seem to be jest fine. Thanks for your input. And my gut feeling was that there should be no real reason they HAD to be in order since they were rollers...which it turns out was right. :-)

Sorry my sn offends you. I made it cause it's applicable.
