Default carb to efi fuel Question

Hey, soon im going to be transferring my 90 lx drivetrain into a clean 85 shell that was carbed. The previous owner put in a holley blue carb fuel pump in with steel -an lines to the engine. my question is, could i get away with just swapping the holley blue pump out with a higher flowingefi unit? this way i wouldnt have to swap tanks or anything. let me know what you guys think.

really need a setup like this http://www.midnightdsigns.com/james/FuelSystem.htm you keep the holley pump to fill the accumulator and keep the high pressure pump from straving and you will need a return line

so even if i added a return line, which i would anyway, replacing the carb pump with an efi pump wouldn't work?

If you got the 91 there any way, just change tanks and fuel line setup, not to bad to do and should fit right in there, thats what I would do, only costs time, no extra money, which would be important for my small budget.
