Efi can be tuned better for more hp and gas mileage and driveability, but... carb is way cheaper if you plan on modifying your car. I would tell you to leave it FI but since your having problems the go with the carb. Besides, it sounds like you already made up your mind Keep in mind that it takes more than just throwing on a carb and intake to convert it over.

go with what ya know. I was carb guy all the way and had trouble even thinking about fuel injection butnow i swear byit. F/I provides great throtlle response and tunablitiy. Its all about you. This probably doesn't help.

i've seen carb cars turn some nasty times at the track...and they sure do sound good loping with a cam, but i've also seen a lot of FI cars do the same and my dad and i also swear by FI. theres a lot more wires...but it makes for a lot mores**t to tinker and tune with

Do what's comfortable for you. FI is not evil as some would believe. Once you understand the basic operation of the Ford EFI system and what the various sensors do, you'll find its pretty neat and quite adaptable to many modifications. Someone once said a carb is the perfect device to supply the wrong amount of fuel at the wrong time all the time. While there is truth to that and EFI is far superior in its metering capabilities, carbs still can kick *** too (just not as efficiently).

thats very true . . im not knocking Fi once i learn the system a lil better then i can fully get into it . . just like with anything carb has its down falls a obivious one being efficiently but whats a few gal's of gas when ur havein fun . . carb also leaves room to go lata on with a NOS plate system as to were if u wanted to run NOS on Fi got alot more to do then slapin a plate on . . . maybe with all ur opinions i can build me a nice like monsta . . lol . . anyway thanks for your input

I'd say go with FI. I've had the oppurtunity to drive both, and the response and drivability of FI is in nothing like a carbuerator. I know I was once leary about FI myself until I dived right in and swapped the 1993 FI system from a Bronco onto a 1979 motor, and put it back into the Bronco. You don't have to disconnect every sensor because they wire it up in one big connector which is super easy. Best of all, the computer will tell you if you have a problem, most of the time anyway.
