Default 95 GT 5.slow part 2

Okay I got all the plugs, wires, cap and rotor changed and the car is still pretty darn slow. Our rental Sentra beat it today. Sad moment I tell ya. What else could be making this thing such a dog? I know they were not super fast stock, but it still idles rough when cold and just doesn't seem to climb very fast in the rpms.

Should I change the coil? I was told they either work, or they don't.

changing the coil wouldn't be a bad idea. Have you tried changing your fuel filter yet??? is it an auto or 5-speed?

Def change that fuel filter. You could even change the bladder filter on the pump inside the tank.

Have u cleaned off your MAF and checked for any codes?

I had the same frustration, it was a clogged mass air sensor...I hit it with CRC cleaner and it's great now. Make sure you flog that Sentra for showing up the mustang...

Had the same problem as you and I chased it for 6 weeks.

#1 Clean you MAF Sensor (that was my problem I found after 6 weeks, cleaned it and then the car took off like a bat out of hell. before that my V6 mustang was walking it.) other things I changed and that you can check
#2 Fuel Filter
#3 Fuel pressure (schrader valve on fuel rail)
#4 Fuel pump
#5 coil, cap, rotor, plugs, wires
#6 Clean IAC
#7 Check for clogged cats
#8 Give it a good seafoam, esp the intake
#9 Check timing, set to 10* (stock) until out find the problem, then feel free to advance it to about 12*
#10 Check/scan for any engine codes
#11 Clean the MAF

Did I say clean the MAF? please do that! you may want to erplcae the MAF if the car does not run better after cleaning.
Go to Auto Zone and get a $5 can of MAF cleaner, take it off and hose the **** out of it

It is a 5speed. I cleaned the MAF with rubbing alcohol and it certainly did run a little better, but that was before I changed the plugs and wires. I just can't believe how long it takes to build rpms. Around 3500 rpms it is fading in power.
