4.10s and any name brand shift kit works out very nicely, and whatever you do...dont get a b&m hammer shifter.

4.10's minimum , lentech is better than transgo, but transgo is ok

look to do a 3000 stall soon.

w/ the shift kit, gears and converter you should run on par w/ a 5-speed car

i JUST got done doing a trans go install, (like 6 hours ago) and as long as your fine with a nice firm (a little rough) shift then do this kit, the kit is a little confusing but pretty good. I did 4.30 gears andd the car screams like a bat out of hell now

trans-go is a great kit for aod, but my opinion would be 373 rear gears still gives a nice take off.. with 410 you just pretty much GO UP IN SMOKE..

(i kno this might be a dumb question) what is a "3000 stall" and why should i do it soon? + are you talking about a torque converter...does that need to be replaced/upgraded along with the shift kit and gear change?

Gears definately 3.73 are always good and i would go with a Baumman Enginnering Shift kit, made specifically for ford look them up on google and hit up there website and check em out. I bought a kit for my 90 and its awesome. Complete directoins, control your shifts, easy install.

yeah a stall is a torque converter, you'll double the benefits of the gears by doing the stall, and don't wanna pull the tranny later just to do it

good ones are: lentech orstallion from precision (anything less than $500 is junk) also, when reading advertised stall speeds...your car will flash much lower...weight and hp is dependant on the stall speed....ligher , less powerful cars will flash lower, so a 3000 will flash about 26-2800 on your car. less than thatis hardly noticible...i did a 2200 and it felt stock, but that was 15 years ago and i had no internet to learn from others mistakes.

btw, that aod car i had , had transgo shiftkit, 3.73, 2200 stall and on sportsman pros still never got in the 13's

so like i said....trust me.....4.10 minimum, 3000 stall minimum or you WILL be dissapointed

http://www.becontrols.com/products/aodcat.htm

as far as smoking the tires...thats the point lol.....then you get sticky tires and actually have some ***** off the line. both my aod cars could hardly spin on street tires w/ 3.73, my 'vert i even ran at the track on street tires w/ nitrous spraying from the dig
