RE: T5 ?

The input shaft area where it goes into the pilot bearing is smaller and it has a different gear ratio in first I believe. I also think it is rated to less power, but it will work in a 5.0 with a different pilot bearing.

yes strength is the main diff!! 240 tq capacity vs 260?? up to 300 ft lbson stock t-5's depending on your year excluding cobra t-5 and z-spec t-5.......and the input shaft tip diameter is smaller on the 4 cyl t-5 and requires a different pilot bearing than a 5.0 t-5 does 4cyl = smaller bushing/pilot bearing:D ratios are also closer in a 4cyl t-5 making it feel more like a road race tranny in a 5.0

I run a 4cyl trans in my 87. Overdrive is the worst part about it, I have an 83 turbo coupe trans which has .81 overdrive, most have .79. With 4.10's highway driving is done around 3500rpm cruising. You to get a pilot bearing bca 202ss or 202ff. Either will work. The trans will hold up just as well as a stock 5.0 t5. I've gone 11.90's on mine.

MJR your in arizona???

it's okay!! alittle cool at night and low 60's during the day but none the less it's good times!! we went to Speedworld on saturday for test n tune and there were a total of 15 -20 cars running max!!! heck round robin all day!! if you wanted you could of left with in two hours and had 20+ runs...I've never seen a track so empty!! had me wishin I had my car here!!!!..thing is when it's in the 60's people here treat that as cold so not many come out and race!!!:D

make sure you get mexican auto insurance...there are a couple of agencies that sell it on the way down, or try and get it locally.

Oh, and stupid me... I should have told you there is a large car & bike show every Saturday (one of the largest weeklies in the country) at the Scottsdale Pavillions...The 101 Freeway and Indian Bend.usually winding down by 8:30. Maybe you can catch it next time.
