5.0 vs. 4.6

RE: 5.0 vs. 4.6
5.0 all the way. The 4.6 SOHC is a pretty crappy engine. I have seen a few built one's but the 5.0 is much much more common, and ruthless. The only 4.6 I would get is a 2003+ SVT Cobra with the SC'd DOHC 4.6 ... But I still love the look of the 87-93 Fox's, That's why I own one! The best thing I have ever done it buy this car.. 5.0 gets my vote!

RE: 5.0 vs. 4.6
Id go for the 5.0, I had a 4.6 and I'm not a big fan. 5.0 Cobras are underrated at 240HP, a guy at SVT told me its actualy 285 and he stressed to me the tune was very poor for performance. 5.0 Cobras come with GT40 heads, Cobra Intake (same flow rate as GT-40), and a Cobra specific cam. You definatly wouldnt be dissapointed with a 5.0 Cobra.
Either way youll love the Cobra, once you get one you report your purchas to SVT. They will ask for certian papers to prove you own the car and then they will send you a really pretty certificate with details about the car itself such as its build number. SVT stresses that they want to keep up with the location and owners of all of their cars. Its been a very cool experience owning one.

As for the weight of the 94+ Mustangs, for some reason a few people on here think the 94+ stangs are Sumo wrestlers of some sort.
1994 Cobra Curb Weight - 3365
1993 Cobra Curb Weight - 3255
Not that big of a difference. The Later model foxes have a higher weight due to the modern saftey features. Early foxes were very light I'm sure but svt88 was asking about Cobra models.

"94-96 5.0 mustangs are slow b/c they are heavy.
97-98 4.6's are just slow unless you get PI heads and some good cams. "

Exactly what he said go with a Fox 5.0 or a 99 and up with PI heads.

94-95 are 5.0's
96-98 are 4.6
