are you guys sure
im just wanting to know if you guys are sure that i can put either style cam (HO or non HO) in any 5.0? i got a non HO motor thats newly rebuilt and i want to put it in my mustang (1992), but i definately want to use the HO cam for the computer's sake. and if anyone knows, how is it so that the firing orders can be swapped and the motor still run??? seems a little bit fishy to me, but i trust you guys. just askin b/c up until a few months ago all i had rebuilt was junky-*** chevrolet motors... you cant swap firing orders on them bastards UNLESS u dont want it to run at all. are there any websites that can tell me how ford motors can have 2 different cams on the same bottom ends? just like to find out as much as i can about them.

All I can say is make sure they match as far as being hydraulic or flat tappet

Will this work? i am planning on keeping my car stock as hell. no mods at all. just asking if the camshafts are innerchangeable

Yeah, the cam controlls the firing order and switching that out will give you the proper order for the mustang computer to run it.
And as long as the block you are using is already set up as a roller type, you should be good to go.
The crank pattern is the same on both firing orders.

so where did the motor come from a grand marquis or crown vic?? as long as both blocks are roller cam then yes you can...you'd need to swap in your h.o cam cause it has the correct firing order..but then again I'm not at work so I can't remember if non h.0 roller motors had the same firing order as h.o.'s but as long as both blocks are roller motors then yes you can swap cams safely

RE: are you guys sure
For your curiosity, the reason you can swap the cams/firing orders, is beause in one setup a given piston would be on exhaust let's say, but with the other firing order it's on compression. Same crank and everything, and the pistons are in the same place, but dpending on when valves are opening/closing, that determines which stroke it is. So it's a matter of whether the pistons happen to be moving upwards/downwards on 1 half of the 4 stroke cycle or the other.
