DO NOT use synthetic oil if you have a high milage motor that leaks, switching from standard oil to synthetic will just make it leak more.

i got 45-55 pounds of oil pressure and i run 10-30 on basiclay stock motor.
If 10w-30 is too low and 20w-50 is too high why dont you just run a conventional 15w-40??

i would think what you have is good oil pressure.
my new 347 uses 25w50 oil and its 50-60 at idle and 80 for anything over 3k rpm.

40-60 psi @2000 rpms and operating temp (175°F+) is the spec for the 5.0's. At idle it could go as low as 15 psi w/out causing any type of damage..... it's normal. By using a higher grade of oil you're wasting some horses to drive the oil pump. My junk has always used (except one time I tried the 20w50 and replaced it in less than 2-weeks) 5w30 or 10w30 regular oil..... it has never failed me in the past 15 yrs.
Pressure is an indication of what really is important.... oil flow, but having too much pressure is as wrong as having too low of a pressure. Just a thought.
BTW...... the required/recommended oil weight for 93-95 5.0's by Ford, is 5w20......per TSB 02-1-9.
