correct...even though it is all suppose to work the last trick flow kit I installed I did all the proper checks...why.??? cause it doesn't hurt to be safe then sorry and this way if you do run into a problem in the process or after it's together then you won't have to second guess your work..but either way it's your choice..just saying what Ido which yields fool proof results

Radiator is no problem, I replaced it so it's out right now
TDC you mean...piston #1 be in the top-est position?
Cam timing should be the famous "point to point" (Camshaft gear at 6 oclock and Crankshaft at 12oclock)?
PTVC is no problem, since this is the Trick Flow Top end kit it is designed to have no PTVC issues.
So timing should be set at TDC (#1 Piston at top position) and timing gears at point to point...that is all?

well if you're not pulling the motor...pull the radiator....and I usually loosen the oil pan bolts and pull down the pan a little so I don't have to fight the timing cover removal...and cause a potential leak if it doesn't seal back up right..I also end up at that point when reinstall happens..putting the good 1 piece rubber pan gasket in place..it can be a little trickey but worth it to me so I know there will be no leaks..anyway whatever you decide to do is up to you......but before disassembley make sure motor is on TDC....and once cam is in roll motor ove twice and make sure the cam timing is correct..then reassemble and when it comes time to do the heads mock assemble..I use a old head gasket and have a can of play dough and check PTV...and then set the vavletrain up and check where the valvetrain travel on the valvestem tips comes in at....after all checks come out good then proceed with final assembley with fresh gaskets

I did stab my distributor...but I stabbed it differently..I just marked it right where it was (marked the position of the rotor aligned with the plastic housing) and also at the same time marked the position of the balancer, both with Sharpie...hope that does it, or else..I am toast...
