1992 power seat
First off, I'd like to say that I'm new to the site an am very eager to get involved with the Mustang community.
I have a problem with my power seat with adjusting the height. The motor works fine when adjusting it forward and backwards however not up and down. Does the seat adjustment use the same motor or are the different? Any help will be appreciated, thanks

RE: 1992 power seat
It definitely isn't the round ****. Thats for the lumbar support, you might be the one who needs to ask questions lol. To everyone else, thank you. I still haven't found the problem but will start with the motor (thanks pro50)

RE: 1992 power seat
wow i was pwned....sorry just trying to help, onedirty is right the round **** is not for seat adjustment, but it is also not for lumbar support,it is for lateral support. the controls next to the round **** is for lumbar support. the controls on the bottom front of the seat are for forward and backward and up and down. I have a 92 and both foward and backward and up and down work on mine and sounds like the same motor works both, cant tell without removing the seat.

RE: 1992 power seat
It is run by separate motors. Ok, here is some useful info for ya
The Driver's Seat Motor Assembly has three reversible motors within the same housing. The Driver's Seat Control Switch determines the direction of current flow through each motor. The direction of current flow determines the direction of motor rotation.
A circuit breaker protects each motor from power that is applied when the motor is stalled. The motor stalls from either mechanical failure or running to the limit to travel.
The FWD/RWD Motor drives the seat forward and backward.
The Height Motor drives the front of the seat up and down.
The motors are grounded when the switches are at rest.
