87 steering problem

87 steering problem
i bought an 87 gt that had crashed into a curb according to the previous owner, everything works fine except the front drivers side wheel is pushed back so when i turn left it rubs the fender and i mean RUBS the fender. i was thinking its a lower control arm thats bent. any other ideas?

The control arm could be bent.
The strut could be bent.
The K-member may be bent or pushed back.
Look at the mounting bolts of the k-member and see if it looks like it pushed back.
Worse case scenario it pushed back the lower rail where the k-member attaches to.
There are reference points under the car where you can measure to. Both sides of the car has the same points. Take a look under there, find them and do some measuring. Measure from some point on the uni body to the grease fitting or centerof the lower ball joint. Then compare it from side to side.
Also look for obvious kinks or creases of the frame rails/uni body.
You may be able to reposition the k-member to get the wheel close enough to get an alignment. The alignment shop can tell you how far the wheel is pushed back if they can't align it.
