I haul azz with divorced duals, sound is different from every other stang in the neighborhood.

H-PipeS MAKE A NON RASPY DEEP note

X-PIPE MORE POWER, raspy note

H pipe is better flowing than stock midpipes and they sound better

H pipe- Low end power. Deep, throaty exhaust note
X pipe- High end power. Raspier exhaust note. Makes overall more horsepower numbers, but not by much at all.

so ive been thinking about putting a new x or h pipe in my car right now i have an h pipe with 2 cats on each side and wanting to go catless, i have equal length headers so long tube headers? i believe and flowmaster catback.. which would be better i am looking for more of a louder exhaust than what i have now and more top end power

Most people will tell you that the H pipe sounds better with Flows. But it's w/e you want.

x pipe better for horsepower h pipe better for torque but not much gain either way like 1-3 hp/tq at wheels. really just depends on what sound you want.

personally I thought my h-pipe with flows sounded like shyt.....and now that I have a x-pipe the sound is like no other..kinda like a force to be reckoned with sound

I think some of you guys misread the original question, lol. This isn't an x-pipe vs h-pipe thread, but rather why run an h-pipe as opposed to a straight pipe from each manifold? The crossover in the midpipe helps even out the exhaust pulses.I believe this helps the engine run smoother?
