Default Ideas for refreshing up my new 5.0

New to mustangs and just bought a 1989 GT Hatch for a local driver. The car has 179k on it and still runs reasonably well. Interior is shot to hell and needs lots of TLC but the motor still feels strong. Small oil leak near back of valve cover so I ordered new valve gaskets already and ordered a kit for interior restoration..new carpet, door handles, weatherstripping, etc.... just wondering if you guys would suggest some other things to look for that might be common problems with the fox body. Thanks for any suggestions.

fresh headlights/possibly tails would make a difference. Throw some subframe connectors on it to preserve the body since it has miles on it, and you obviously intend on keeping it. Otherwise just the normal stuff when you get a used car make sure the tires are up to snuff, fresh oil and fresh air filter etc. Good luck with it.

Get some pics up too!

My 87 GT was like that when I bought it this past summer. THe interior wasn't fit for a rat to sleep in. I gutted the whole interior and switched to black interior ( was red) Lots of 4 bangers in the Junkyard here with black interior. I put new black carpet and etc. While I had the interior stripped I replaced the entire wiring harness. Night and day difference now. Well worth it.

Hey thanks guys. I ordered the resto kit from CJ's comes with new lights, weatherstripping, carpet, inside handles and bezels which I need and new center arm rest. Also ordered new seats, door sills, intake, gasket set. Replaced my passenger window with new one. Had to take off door lock actuators cause they were locked up and now looking for window switches cause they are acting up. Man I feel like I have lived on the internet and been buying stuff and still so far to go.

I would post pics but I have no clue how too.
