taking out the axle
ok so i have all my brakes of the differential so im down to the axle. how do they come out do they slide right out or is there some bolts to take out. i couldn't get it and i didn't want to ruin the rear end. so i decided to call it a night

Simple...
First, remove the cover off the rear...and make sure you have a container to drain it in. Next, spin the driveshaft until you see the pin going thru the center of the carrier... it should have an 8mm bolt holding it in. Remove that bolt, and slide the pin out. Push the axle IN as far as it will go, and using a screw driver or magnet, slide the C-clip off the end (this end of the axle is inside of the carrier) The axle should then slide right out. DO NOT remove that S-clip thats in the center.

And don't rotate the driveshaft w/ the carrier pin removed. The spider gears will pop out.

um, the spring is holding in the spider gears, they wont come out if the shaft is out.
