Hey guys, discovered this today, have a noise in the motor I'm trying to track down. What exactly is this? It is directly under the alternator. 87 GT.That whole obvisouly isn't good, can I get a cap for it>? I have no idea what it is, went to etc.... thanks guys.

the elbow to the air injection pump is broken off need the elbow that's it ..after you find a replacement piece then reconnect it to the rubber hoses which have the bypass valve incorporated into it and the diverter valve...it's all emissions stuff

start the car, pop the hood, put your hand over the whole, if the noise goes away theres your problem!

Anew smog pump will have the piece on it you need..it's probably not a bad idea to replace it as an assembley if it's the original before it locks up
