Default Advanced Timing and Gas

Just bumped timing from *10 to *12 and added 89 Octane fuel. If I advance to *14 or higher will I need to run 91 octane.

I hear that you dont want to go over *10-*11 running just 89 octane, if you want higher timing you need 93 octane But I wouldnt go up too *14, unless you use 93 octane i'd stay around *10-*12 but I guess it just depends on your car and the timming.

Im gonna bump in to *14 w 93 Octane next week. I want to drive a while after each increase to know I am safe at that timing. I have only seen 91 octane, maybe I need to check out another gas station.

yea if your going to run *14 you will need 93, you may want to check out your local autoparts store and get some octane booster and see how it runs with that, but that would be expensive to do that all the time.

Or you can get that liquid methanol injection.Just that brings up the octane by 1-3 points, plus keep your combustion chambers free of carbon build up.

I am running 15* with 93 octane and not knocking. Best way is to put in 93 or 91, depending on what is near you. Start bumping the timing up 1* at a time when you start to hear knocking, back it down 1* and there you go. From my reading that is what I did and was able to get to 15* before I started knocking at 16*.

Don't know where you live camaroeater, but my family is in Mobile, ALA. Went there for the holidays and I couldn't find 93 anywhere, just 91. In Houston though, it's everywere. IMO the LUCAS octane boost works best, have not tried too many, but have had good luck with LUCAS.
