Two questions (possibly more..)
Firstly, what is everyone's opinion of Holley's Systemax II kit (supposed to add 150 hp)? Does it really add this to a stock car? In which case, supporting mods such as a cold air intake, long headers, and2.5" exhaust would increase even more?
Secondly, what tuning would you suggest if I went with Holley's Systemax II kit? What piggyback is the best option for an N/A mustang?
Ahahhaa third (more will probably follow). After installing the Systemax kit, timing should probably be advanced to 14?
Thank you!

RE: Two questions (possibly more..)
Like most Mod adds you want to read their claims as "UP TO xxx HP" Without knowing anything in specific about the kit I'd say that is an attainable figure so long as you do have the supporting mods.

If it claim's 150 horse increase, it was tested on an engine with all the supporting mods. I've heard good things about holley systemax but i dont know if that number is realistic. With an average of 18 percent lost thru drivetrain, that would put rwhp at around 307. I guess it's acheivable. I would try to find outwhat was done to engine they tested to get that 150 hp increase.

Alright, thanks for the opinions so far...
I'd assume the 150 added HP would be with everything. Intake, large filter, cold day, headers, custom 2.5 H pipe (or maybe even off-road X), upgraded MAF, thermometor, ignition, the works...
Regardless, I know this kit will last... but would anyone suggest going with a racier setup? I want duration, but it's not too important (as I plan on only putting 10k-15k miles on the car most likely, as it will be street/strip). Mixing some trickflow's twisted wedge, with their intake, and their stag 2 cam?

the holley setup is great, however i peronsally wouldnt mix match the parts, either got tfs package or holley or peice together your own package.
Whats your goals for the car?

RE: Two questions (possibly more..)
your goal of 300 to the wheels is a good goal, im shooting for the same thing just for a whole hell of a lot cheaper . Just as a tip though, you REALLY need sub frame connectors if your gonna be pushing that kinda hp.
The holley system in my opinion will make more hp then the tfs setup. I know a few guys with the tfs setup that are NOT making 300hp and have supporting mods.

You're using explorer intakes? What would you do for the heads? Or just going FI? Or a 351?
Yeah, I think 300 is a modest number. I might take it from then, but at that pointI wanna get the rest of the car done.
