Default AT problems

I have a sn95 and I had something weird happen to me today. When I started my car this morning, I let it it warm up to normal temp. When I was about to put my car in drive, the shifter wouldn't move out of park. After trying a couple of times, I shut my car off and put it in netural. I tried starting it and it wouldn't start. I then put the car in drive, and my car started up!! So now for some odd reason, all of my gears have went down one click. So my reverse is park, my netural is reverse, drive is netural and d2 is drive. Does anyone know what is going on with my car, or have you had a similar problem? Please help!

never in my life have i heard of this. Try going outside right now and putting your key in the ignition, making sure its in park and then start the car and see if you still have the problem. My magical powers says its gone.

I wish that were true. I just went out and it is doing the same thing. I called my mechanic and he said that it might be the AT trans cable. He said it was easy to fix. Hopefully its not a bad problem.

darn i was thinking you might have been tired and just slightly confused lol. I have never heard of this issue so i can't really comment on it, i personally would run it down to the mechanic and have him mess with it. I hate dealing with tranny stuff.

Linkage needs adjusted. Apparently it has slipped out of the original position.
