actually my dad has a 75 mach 1 with the "delete" package which meant it came with the weenie little 2.3 4 banger. tell me, how many of THOSE do you think are still around that still have the 4 cyl. in them? he probably has literally the only one left that wasnt converted or crushed in the junk yards.

hey roostracing you post in the classic section much i dont remember seeing you in there or i forgot should come in sometimes

i love my grandpa sex been working on it for the last three years, inbetween school and work. ive had a major setback lately i had a motorcycle wreck the bike and i were pretty much totaled. i ended up with a broken left wrist, broken right shoulder, and a frugged up back i can hard bend over still(it happened in mid nov) im close to being finished i gotta finish my interior and get my a/c kit and repaint in bc/cc its in single stage now to seal the body work and to see if i cared for the red color i picked out im seriously thinking about switching to a lime green from house of color. postr some pics up im hoping mine will be around 2400lbs instead of the stock 2800 it was original ive got a complete glass front end deck lid etc all the bolt on piece ive flared the fender front and rear.

Is your 66 stock or modded?

its ok they were really nothing more than tape, badges and stickers actually the 71-73 were also the delux interior wasnt even standard for the naca hood
Only partly correct, All Mach 1's from 1969 - 1978 Had a unique body code digit in the VIN "05". The 74 came standard with the V6 (no V8 Mustang offered in 74), after that they could be ordered with the V6 or V8. The Mach 1's for 1974 - 1978 also had a unique suspension package (springs and if I remember correctly swaybars) designed to improve handling. But other than graphics and upgraded interior they where no different than any other Mustang II.

If that is true and it is a real Mach1 and factory that is a very rare special order car!

raven it is true, and it was an option available from ford for people who didnt care about the "power" (insert chuckle here) but liked the look of the mach1 and wanted better handling.

More than stickers......urethane front bumpers, unique honeycomb grill and tail treatments, deluxe wheels and yes the deluxe interior as you mentioned and the hood was optional in 73, My 73 came with it and It had a 351W 2V (I swapped a 71 351C 4V in it) even at that if it wasn't much more different than a standard Mustang it is still a MACH1.

In this comparison you might as well say a fox body GT is nothing more than a 5.0 LX with extra body cladding, and deluxe interior. *shrugs*
