Default Pressurized Gastank???

When i open my gas tank to fill it up

whne the cap is being unscrewed its like opening a pepsi bottle after shaking it.. seems to be a bit of pressure built up in the tank

either im getting carbonated gas which i am pretty sure no such thing exists

or somthing is wrong

any thoughts?

only thing i can think of is maybe my mufflers i cut the tail pipes off, no turn down tips

does ur car still have all the emissions equip?..cuz if its been takin off maybe they took off that charcoal canister...i think i read that it has some function of venting gas tank pressure...otherwise just get a vented gas cap

its normal, aslong as you have the vent hose hooked up you'll be fine, I live in 120+ degree summers here, and thats the norm

in warm weather gas vapors expand and relsult in pressure build up and if it's excessive then check to see if the purge selonoid by the charcoal canister is working..and purging stored vapors into the intake to be burned
