Default New track times...still not happy

Ok, last year with my setup below with street tires, 2.73 gears with a 7.5 open differential rearend I ran a best of 13.78@104
This year I added an 8.8 with 4:10's, M/T slicks(26x9x15) and subframes.
My best time was a 13.47@103.53
I feel I should be in the 12's and something is holding me back and can't quite pin point it.
My best 60' was 1.97, which I feel could be lower. I ran 12lbs of pressure in the slicks.
What do you think is the "bottle neck" in my setup?

BTW, my I'm running a Carter 600 carb. on an edelbrock performer intake.

could be the stall, to less of air in slicks, motor isnt all that strong, no suspension, could be so many of things

I don't think it's lack of HP, It's a worked 351w and it shouldnt take that much to run 12's with a 351w in a light foxbody.

honestly yea it does. ive seen a so called cammed and worked head 351 only run high 13s. its all in how you chose your parts. like how does a 396 bbc in a monte ss only go mid to high 14s???

but anyways it could be the motor your heads may be worked but may be not the best for your combo, also stall probably is to small for the cam so youre not getting of the line hard enough. maybe your C4 is slipping and you dont realize it, suspension is going to play a huge roll also in 6o' department. could also be your technique

I would say the carb would be a limiting factor, I have run both holley and carter. Carter is for show and economy, Holley is for go and stopping at every gas station on the way there. I had a carter 750 on my Pontiac 400 in the bird, and it was great for drivability but sucked on performance. Put a holley 750 DP on and it really woke the car up, and not this isn't a fluke or bad carb. My friend had a 84 Capri with a 600 carter, and put on a 600 holley and picked up performance as well. For your combonation I would run a Holley 650 DP, and mill the air horn off, unless of course you have to have choke. Are you spinning? Bogging? Hesitation? Whats going on with the run tells us a little more.

I'm running stock 351w that are ported & polished with 1.94/1.60 valves.
There are some things I can remove from the car. I already have the rear seats, spare tire, sound deadener and inner door panel removed. I also have a fiberglass hood.
