my77stang---the seals are not teflon they are rubber
Then you need to tell Fel Pro just that!
my77stang--- oil or grease on the inside of the seal, because running any seal dry is no good.
Once again; you need contact Fel Pro and tell them that there installation instructions are completely wrong, and they need to follow your instructions, since you've done more R&D than Fel Pro has.
Oh yeah for your information: rubber seals have a spring inside, TEFLON seals don't, just in case you ever want to tell someone that they (Fel Pro ) does make a TEFLON rear main seal.
i got one, put it in with a thin layer of rtv, didnt leak. but if you read this first, dont put rtv on teflon seal
