What is needed for a 94-95 to make 350-400 rwhp? Budget?

Default What is needed for a 94-95 to make 350-400 rwhp? Budget?

I'm currently shopping for a 94-95 5.0 project car. My goals are 350 to 400 rwhp (no nitrous). How would some of you recommend accomplishing this? What should my modification budget be?

Thanks in advance.

Supercharger of any sort with supporting mods would be the most affordable option.

I'm very partial to forced induction. My thing is, I'm not sure what the limits are of the stock components. I'm sure I'd need, headers, heads, cam...but I'm not so sure about the block, pistons, etc. I'm also not sure what particular parts I should be looking at so I can put together a budget.

I got a supercharger but i still say nitrous is one of the best ways to get there, its the cheapest and easiest.

true!! however the one bad thing about NOS is it's not consistent HP...meaning it's only there as long as the bottle is full and turned on......don't get me wrong.. I'ma NOS user too....

You got it. I mean, for the money, you're right. N2O is the cheapest. But, like mjr46 said, it's not there all the time. I'd like 350-400 rwhp on tap all the time.

Easiest way would be a turbo. Otherwise heads/cam/intake can get you to ~300 and then mild boost should get you to your goal with supporting mods.

Boost with supporting mods is going to be your easiest, quickest way. Period. Stock long block with about 12psi through a vortech will get you 350 to the tire. You'll have about 3500 in parts and will take you a weekend to install.

HCI is a viable way to get you to 300whp, if your wanting more then that it is going to be hard to get it N/A on a 302. Stroker is a option, but your cost and labor on the install is going to be alot greater. Look into a blower and get it done quick and easy.

I was under the impression that a normal vortech/procharger kit will only yield you low 300's horsepower. No? If so, what else is needed becides what vortech or procharger can provide?
