RE: Main/Rod bearing questions
you need to mike the crank(use a micrometer and compare your reading against the service manual) if they are out of tolerance then you need to have it ground undersize if its not stocks its probably stamped .010 or .020 somewhere along one the counterweights

RE: Main/Rod bearing questions
it would be stamped into the bearings too if it were undersized. i'm going to go out on a limb here and say because it has ford part numbers those bearings are standard[8D] (who the hell buys undersize bearings from ford ya know?)

RE: Main/Rod bearing questions
Does ford even make undersize bearings? OR do they even make bearings for that matter? I imagine they buy them from Clevite/King etc. If you don't havea micrometer, you can take it to a machine shop to get it checked, or instead of even messing with that, just have it ground .010 under, or .020 or whatever the next size down is(the grinder will mic it first to know where to set the machine) and put the appropriate bearings with it. There's nothing wrong with grinding cranks, you can actually cut a fair bit off them them, so .010 or .020 is nothing.
