ok trying to mount tranny to bellhousing but something is holding it back from sitting flush with the bellhousing. seem to me the throwout bearing retainer is not fitting in the bellhousing. maybee thats not it i dont know anyone know of any solution need to get tranny in tonight!!

gotta make sure the trans is lined perfectly with everything

im pretty sure everything is lined up it slides in just until the bearing retainer on the trans. cant push it in anymore

you didn't put a clutch in did you?? if so you used an alignment tool right?? if not the case then hold up on the clutch fork and make sure the TB slides on to the retainer while pushing in......also to aid in slide in I lube up the pilot tip and bearing retainer with some anti-sieze..usually slides right in:D

i had that same problem. ifyou can try and use the bolts to drive it in that little it.

yeah clutch is finished used alignment tool correctly is it because the input shaft is not sliding into the pilot bearing?

i shook the trans a lil each way until it finally went in., going into that bearng its gotta be 100% straight

so should i try to lube up the input shaft tip and bearing retainer and see if it slides in?

I used the bolts todraw it in flush and it works perfect.Try that, hope it helps

You sir need to step away from the tools. That is not the right way to do it. If everything is lined up correctly it will slide right in no problem. Forcing it in with the bolts couldcause damage tothe pilot bearing, clutch disc, tb, input shaft, and front bearing retainer.


Double check the alignment of the disc to pilot bearing. If the tool slides in and engages to pilot bearing with ease you need to have someone sit in the car and lightly work the clutch pedal until it slides in flush to the bellhousing.
